Word from the Word 7/20/12

       Hebrews 11:6 11:1            Breathing Faith
       Acts 5:14

Usually one thinks that if you are to have faith, then
one must believe. Though this is true in theory, in actuality
they are one and the same, like two sides of the same token.
In the Greek translation "faith" and "belief" come from
the Greek word "pistis" and are translated as such(faith and belief).
It is for this reason that people who have faith in God are called believers
The word faith in the original Hebrew is the word "e mu nah"
which comes from the root word "aman" and is literally translated as firm
or firmness. So one can say that "faith" involves believing and being firm in
one's belief. There is far more to faith than what our brains can correctly
rationalize! It is not enough to just believe in God, we must also trust in Him
                           and obey His word.
Some may say it is difficult to have faith in God when we have
never seen Him or even know that He is real. Faith however, is what enables
us to believe in the invisible God and what He can and will do, all we need is...
                          Faith!

  1. I love this, having faith means we should
be firm in our faith and belief. Huh that is
the meaning of the word today, even so for its
    origin. Interesting and important!
