Happy Birthday Jesus!

Wishing all our friends a wonderful and blessed Celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus!

The real reason for Christmas is...

  During this festive and busy time
of the year it is so easy to get caught up in all the festivities and craziness. All that is well and good but in my humble opinion, I believe that Christmas would be even more beautiful if we spent more time focusing on the true meaning of Christmas....Jesus, the Son of God!
 Most of us put a lot of thought into the
gifts that we will give to our family and friends but how often do we ask ourselves,
"hmm, what should I give Jesus today!"
    Or, "I wonder what His favorite color is?" If we are truly honest with ourselves I am pretty sure most would not be able to say that we ask ourselves that question or similar questions at Christmas.
I am not proud to admit that I used to be one of those people until one Christmas day not too long ago.
    Like pretty much everyone else, I love Christmas, I love
the music, I love the beautiful colored lights, and most of all, I love
the "comfort and joy" that seems to permeate the very air we breathe through out the entire Christmas season. Everyone seems to be in love with life and all the beauty that is Christmas!
   On that particular Christmas, I started to think about what I DON'T....................................................................................
like about Christmas...I don't like all the temptation that comes
disguised as cookies, and cakes, and all the other "holiday" foods.
That brings me to another thing I don't like about Christmas, it's the
very word "holiday". It really isn't the word itself, it's more about
the fact that the word "holiday" is now supposed to replace
words one associates with the season such as "Merry Christmas,"
and "Jesus Birthday."
   So now every where you go this time of year you may hear,
"Happy Holidays" and "It isn't really Jesus birthday, anyway!"
Well in my opinion, if it isn't Jesus birthday, then let's cancel
Christmas! yes cancel Christmas, instead of canceling Jesus
the true meaning of Christmas. Come on, we know that Jesus
wasn't really born on Christmas day, but if one IS going to
celebrate it, then it should be celebrated in His name.
   So, it would be safe(and of foremost importance) to
give God the glory and praise for sending His precious son to
be born as a man so that we all could be delivered from the curse of sin and death and have the abundant life He promised. That is
the real meaning of Christmas.
  During this time of year, perhaps the best gift we can give
anyone is the gift of time! There are many people who are lonely, and depressed, and truly alone. Perhaps some of them may feel or be that way all the other 364 days of the year, even so, there is
something about the arrival of Christmas and all it's sparkle, that
causes the lonely and hurting heart to break in a whole new way.
   So this Christmas, I am looking to for people, places, where
I can be His hand extended, where I can share the love of God, even if it is in some small way! If you know anyone that needs to
know, or be reminded that they are loved, that they are not alone,
reach out to them in some small way. We have all heard it said
I'm sure, "it is more blessed to give then it is to receive," and it
is true!
   If on the other hand, you are the one who needs to know or
be reminded that Jesus loves you, that He was born, and died, and
will come back to take you home with Him one day then please
know it is not a fairy tale, Jesus truly loves you! you are not alone! He loves you, and so do I. If you need prayer or a reminder then it is you I am talking to and about here, more importantly, it is He who is talking to you here. You are loved, you are not alone, call on His name, He will hear you!

You are who HE says you are!

Don't ever let anything or anyone tell you any different! You are not your mistakes, failures, fears, or anything other than who and what God says you are....He should know better than anyone else, He created you, and as such, He loves you more than you can ever know!

"Treated" NOT tricked!

     With all the visual stimulation provided by most retailers
this time of year, it is easy to be lulled into a comfy and warm
feeling about Halloween. All the candy wrapped in their bright
wrappers seem to be calling your name! Kids and adults alike are
in a joyful frenzy trying to decide what they "will be" for the big
night.
     Given the fun filled stimulation to all your natural senses it
is easy to see how anyone can get caught up in the October craziness! After all it's just harmless,sweet tasting fun isn't it?
On the surface, that would seem to be the case but when one
stops to consider the origin of this holiday, it is not harmless at
all.
     The Word of God tells us that we as God's children  should
be set apart, different, from the rest of the people, those who don't
belong to HIM. As HIS children, we need to stand out . Yes, it
is easy to be tricked by such a seemingly "fun" holiday, but if we
can but turn our eyes from the things that sparkle and shine, and
keep our eyes on the Lord, then we will discover the "real" and
the sweetest treat of all...eternal life!

The Magic fruit...

The magic fruit...

I'm sure everyone has heard that "an apple a day keeps the Dr. away but did you know that "when" you eat an apple can make all the difference with certain ailments? For example, eating an apple before breakfast(on an empty stomach), can help alleviate conconstipation, and other digestive problems. Other benefits of apples are: lowered cholesterol, weight loss, and improved lung function, just to name a few.
    There are many more benefits to eating apples but it is
important to remember that it is best to eat organic apples because
non-organic apples have been treated with numerous pesticides. Also important is the fact that you should eat the apple with the
peeling on as the peel contains a great amount of fiber as well.
Lastly, it is better to eat your apples fresh, not juiced or applesauce.

Jesus love me this I know...

          ..."for the Bible tells me so." the Word of God tells us that His love for us is
unconditional. The Bible also tells us that He loves us as a father loves his child. Imagine
for a moment that the best father on earth is the father that loves his child with all his heart
and would do anything it takes to keep his child safe. Now, imagine that love multiplied
to infinity and then you will have at least some idea about the love of God, our Heavenly
Father!
     Our heavenly Father loves us so much that He is always ready to pick us up when
we fall, and hear when we call. You are precious in His sight, recieve it, believe it. You are
His child and He cares about everything that concerns you.

Many Benifits of God's perfectly packaged "Apples"

Benefits of the perfectly packaged(by God) Apple!

Apples contain a flavanoid called phloridzin that is found
only in apples. This flavanoid is believed to protect and or
help with the following:

* may increase bone density in postmenopausal women,
  due to another wonderful component of the apple called
  boron which helps strengthen bones. Thus, the apple may
  be beneficial in the prevention of osteoporosis.
* Asthma in children
* Brain cells may be protected from damage due to it's
  content of Quercetin. This protection can be seen especially
  with damage of a certain type that is done by  specific
                                                       free radicals. These particular free radicals may lead to
                                                       Alzheimer's disease.
                                                     * In one of many studies, 10.000 people were studied and
                                                        the results of the study showed that people who ate the most
                                                        apples had 50% lower risk of lung cancer. It is believed that
                                                        this is due to naringin and the high levels of quercetin, the
                                                        flavinoids found in apples.
                                                    *  Breast cancer prevention
                                                    *  Diabetes management- due to the apples's content of
                                                        galacturonic acid, which lowers the body's need for insulin.
                                                    *  Weight loss, in many independent studies done, results
                                                         showed that the mere act of eating 3 apples per day,
                                                         resulted in more weight loss in people who were trying to
                                                         lose weight.
                                                    *  Cholesterol (lowered) due to the soluble fiber contained in
                                                         apples. Apples help prevent LDL from oxidizing and inhibit
                                                         inflammation.
                                                    *  Lowered risk of heart disease and stroke
                                                    *  Protection against Metabolic Syndrome
                                                    *  C-reactive protein- which is a marker of inflammation and
                                                        whose presence in the blood suggests and increased risk for
                                                        heart disease and diabetes(apples help keep the body at the
                                                        necessary "lower level" of this protein).
                                                    *  Immune boosting vitamin C
                                                    *  4 grams of fiber per medium apple, delivered through the
                                                        apple's content of pectin which is in itself a type of fiber.
                                                    *  Antioxidants
                                                    * In exercising, an apple before a workout helps with endurence.
 *I don't know about you, but I am going to start working on eating my "3" apples per day. Like anything
else, perhaps by working up from 1 to start then 2, and finally get to 3! Wow what a powerhouse God
has created for our good!

Great Calorie Cutter

     From: The Health Plus Newsletter
          Just as music and lighting can influence what shoppers
buy, toning down the tunes and dimming the lights in a fast food
restaurant can help diners enjoy their meal more and eat less,
according to a U.S. study.
         After transforming part of a fast food restaurant in
Illinois with milder music and lighting,researchers found that
customers ate 18% fewer calories than other people in the un-
modified part of the restaurant. "When we softened the lights
and softened the music in the restaurant it didn't change what
people ordered,but what it did was lead them to eat less and made
them more satisfied and happier," said Brian Wansink, a professor
of marketing and consumer behavior at Cornell University in
New York.

You are special....

     A sense of self worth is one of a human beings most
basic needs. Two important components that make up our
self worth are a sense of security, and  a sense of significance.
In order to feel significant we must have a sense of purpose
in our lives. To feel secure, we need to feel loved and accepted
for who we are.
   It is a well known fact that "nobody is perfect," this being
the case, it is important that we don't seek our sense of security
in any person. Instead, we should seek our security, and
thus our sense of self worth in God, in whose image we were
created.
   God created us for relationship with Him,He is our
security, and His Word tells us just how much we are worth
to Him. So the next time you don't feel pretty enough, or smart
enough, or any other "enough" Just remember what your
Heavenly Father says about you. He will never abandon you
or make you feel that you are any less than you are!
                                                                  It doesn't matter what anyone says, or even what you
                                                              feel, the only thing that really matters is that you are a daughter
                                                             of the King of Kings, as such you are a princess!

The Surest Thing!

     The Word of God tells us that Jesus blood was shed for every
human being that ever walked, walks, or ever will walk this earth.
Salvation is a free gift from Him and we need only to believe and
receive it! It doesn't matter what you may have done, no matter
how big or small, He will forgive you and I!
    Often it is easy to believe and receive this precious gift and
even believe that He has forgiven us. However, sometimes it is not
as easy to forgive ourselves. This is where trust and faith come in.
If the Word of God says it, then it is true ! If He has forgiven us
then we need to forgive ourselves! You are more loved than you
know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When brushing isn't good for you...

     By Dr. Teifue Chen

     "Toothpaste contains sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS) or a
similar ingredient,this is a grease cutting detergent, to strong
for mucus membrane. SLS is very irritating and can cause gums
to recede, on the low side of the damage it can do.
      Makers include saccharine and artificial flavors, just
to name a few of the offenders, to cover up the chemical. Is
it any wonder that there is a warning on it that it should not be
swallowed? These ingredients are especially harmful to children!

Voice of truth...

"What time I am afraid, I will trust in the Lord!

Another voice of support

Why Evangelical Christians Support Israel

One day in the late 19th Century, Queen Victoria of England reportedly asked her Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, this question:

"Mr. Prime Minister, what evidence can you give me of the existence of God?"

Disraeli thought for a moment and then replied, "The Jew, your majesty."

Think of it, according to Disraeli, the primary evidence that God exists is the existence of the Jewish people… A people who in 586 BC were deported to Babylon, yet returned after 70 years to rebuild a nation. Who were again brutally massacred and dispersed by the Romans in 70 AD, yet after countless centuries of Diaspora, expulsions, pogroms, ghettos, and attempts at genocidal extermination, have clung to their faith, their customs -- and now after some 2500 years of wandering have returned to the land promised by God to their ancestors. A new nation began in that land in 1948 named after their ancestor Jacob, whose divinely appointed name Israel means "Prince with God." And to fulfill another ancient prophecy, God moved on the heart of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, whose son Ehud told me that, while his father was living in Eastern Europe, he heard a voice and saw a light directing him to bring forth for the Jewish people a pure language-Hebrew-the language of the Torah and of the ancient prophets.

Yes, the survival of the Jewish people is a miracle of God. The return of the Jewish people to the land promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is a miracle of God. The remarkable victories of Jewish armies against overwhelming odds in successive battles in 1948, and 1967, and 1973 are clearly miracles of God. The technological marvels of Israeli industry, the military prowess, the bounty of Israeli agriculture, the fruits and flowers and abundance of the land are a testimony to God's watchful care over this new nation and the genius of this people.

Yet what has happened was clearly foretold by the ancient prophet Ezekiel, who, writing at the time of the Babylonian captivity, declared this message for the Jewish people concerning latter days.

"For I will take you out of the nation; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back to your own land… I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you… to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. You will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people and I will be your God. I will save you from all your uncleanness.

"I will call for the grain and make it plentiful… I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine…

"This is what the Sovereign Jehovah says, 'On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt. The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it. They will say, "This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited.'

"Then the nations around you that remain will know that I, Jehovah, have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I, Jehovah, have spoken, and I will do it." (Ezekiel 36:24 ff).
Ladies and Gentleman, evangelical Christians support Israel because we believe that the words of Moses and the ancient prophets of Israel were inspired by God. We believe that the emergence of a Jewish state in the land promised by God to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was ordained by God.

We believe that God has a plan for this nation which He intends to be a blessing to all the nations of the earth.

Of course, we, like all right-thinking people, support Israel because Israel is an island of democracy, an island of individual freedom, an island of the rule of law, and an island of modernity in the midst of a sea of dictatorial regimes, the suppression of individual liberty, and a fanatical religion intent on returning to the feudalism of 8th Century Arabia.

These facts about modern day Israel are all true. But mere political rhetoric does not account for the profound devotion to Israel that exists in the hearts of tens of millions of evangelical Christians.

You must realize that the God who spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai is our God. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are our spiritual Patriarchs. Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel are our prophets. King David, a man after God's own heart, is our hero. The Holy City of Jerusalem is our spiritual capital. And the continuation of Jewish sovereignty over the Holy Land is a further bulwark to us that the God of the Bible exists and that His Word is true.

And we should clearly take note that evangelical Christians serve a Jew that we believe was the divine Messiah of Israel, spoken of by the ancient prophets, to whom He entrusted the worldwide dissemination of His message to 12 Jewish apostles.

It should be noted that today Christianity, with well over two billion adherents, is by far the fastest growing religion in the world. Within 20 years, that number will swell to three billion. Of these, at least six hundred million are Bible-believing evangelicals and charismatics who are ardent supporters of the nation of Israel. In 20 years, that number will reach one billion. Israel has millions of Christian friends in China, in India, in Indonesia, throughout Africa and South America, as well as North America.

We are with you in your struggle. We are with you as a wave of anti-Semitism is engulfing the earth. We are with you despite the pressure of the "Quartette" and the incredibly hostile resolutions of the United Nations. We are with you despite the threats and ravings of Wahabbi Jihadists, Hezbollah thugs, and Hamas assassins.

We are with you despite oil embargos, loss of allies, and terrorist attacks on our cities.

We evangelical Christians merely say to our Israeli friends, "Let us serve our God together by opposing the virulent poison of anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism that is rapidly engulfing the world."

Having affirmed our support, I would humbly make two requests of our Israeli friends:
First, please don't commit national suicide. It is very hard for your friends to support you, if you make a conscious decision to destroy yourselves.

I hardly find it necessary to remind this audience of the stated objectives of Yasser Arafat, the PLO, Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad. Their goal is not peace, but the final destruction of the State of Israel. At no time do they, or their allies in the Muslim world, acknowledge the sovereignty of Israel over even one square inch of territory in the Middle East. If a Palestinian State is created in the heart of Israel with sovereign power to deploy troops, import modern weapons -- even weapons of mass destruction --and operate with full secrecy and diplomatic immunity, the ability of the State of Israel to defend itself will be fatally compromised.

The slogan "land for peace" is a cruel chimera. The Sinai was given up. Did that bring lasting peace? No. Southern Lebanon was given up. Did that bring lasting peace? No. Instead Hezbollah rode tanks to the border of Israel shouting, "On to Jerusalem!" Now, as many as 10,000 rockets aimed at Metulla, Qiryat Shemona, and all of Northern Israel have been put in place throughout Southern Lebanon.

Arafat was brought up at the knees of the man who yearned to finish the work of Adolf Hitler. How can any realist truly believe that this killer and his associates can become trusted partners for peace?

I am aware of the deep feelings of many Israelis who yearn for peace. Who long to be free from the terror of the suicide bombers of the intifada. I would draw their attention to the fact that during the Cold War, the American people yearned to be free from the constant threat of a nuclear holocaust. Then, at Reykjavik, Iceland on the occasion of a summit between President Ronald Reagan of the United Sates and Premier Mikhail Gorbachev of the Soviet Union, what seemed like an incredible opportunity for peace was presented to President Reagan by Mr. Gorbachev. An offer was made for hitherto undreamed of reductions in nuclear weapons. Gorbachev's offer included everything the U.S. arms negotiations had wanted, except one thing. The condition for the Russian offer was to be the agreement by the United States to abandon the so-called "star wars" Strategic Defense Initiative.

Mr. Reagan carefully considered the offer then reluctantly said no. Without the Strategic Defense Initiative, there would be no deal. Gorbachev was stunned. Then both leaders, with sadness in their hearts, adjourned the meeting and departed Reykjavik.

Once again, the world was hovering on the brink of nuclear annihilation. The American liberal press was apoplectic at Reagan's decision. But he held firm.

Now we all know that he was right. The Russians could not compete with the United States in a nuclear arms race and Gorbachev knew it. The bluster was over. The threats were over. Reagan had won by standing firm. Soon freedom broke out in Poland, in Hungary, in East Germany. The Berlin Wall came down. The barbed wire fences came down. And Soviet Communism came down.

The world is safe from super power nuclear terror. This terror is no more because one strong leader stood against public opinion, against the advice of many of his own counselors and said no! May the leaders of Israel in 2004 have the courage to look the nations of the world in the eye, and when your national interests demand it, say no!

Second, the world's Christians ask that you do not give away the treasured symbols of your spiritual patrimony.

I read recently in The Wall Street Journal an article written by an American Jewish commentator who remarked that the Temple Mount and what is termed the "Wailing Wall" are "sacred stones and sites," but hardly worth bloodshed.

Just think -- the place where the Patriarch Abraham took Isaac to offer him to God. The place bought by King David from Araunah where the Angel of the Lord stood with drawn sword. The place of Solomon's temple. The place of the Holy of Holies. The place where Jesus Christ walked and taught. The very spiritual center of the Jewish worship of the one true God -- nothing but a pile of sacred stones -- unworthy of sacrifice? What an incredible assertion!

Ladies and gentlemen, make no mistake -- the entire world is being convulsed by a religious struggle. The fight is not about money or territory; it is not about poverty versus wealth; it is not about ancient customs versus modernity. No. The struggle is whether Hubal, the Moon God of Mecca, known as Allah, is supreme, or whether the Judeo-Christian Jehovah God of the Bible is Supreme.

If God's chosen people turn over to Allah control of their most sacred sites-if they surrender to Muslim vandals the tombs of Rachel, of Joseph, of the Patriarchs, of the ancient prophets-if they believe their claim to the Holy Land comes only from Lord Balfour of England and the ever fickle United Nations rather than the promises of Almighty God-then in that event, Islam will have won the battle. Throughout the Muslim world the message will go forth-"Allah is greater than Jehovah. The promises of Jehovah to the Jews are meaningless.

"We can now, in the name of Allah, move to crush the Jews and drive them out of the land that belongs to Allah."

In short, those political initiatives that some have asserted will guarantee peace, will in truth guarantee unending struggle and ultimate failure. Those political leaders who only understand the secular dimension of Israel's existence and who cavalierly dismiss the spiritual dimension will find that they receive the mess of pottage of Esau rather than the inheritance of Jacob.
~~~~~~~~~~
On Christmas Day in 1974, I had the privilege of interviewing Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin for my television program, The 700 Club. Rabin lamented the fact that after Israeli military victories, the nation had been stopped from achieving a peace treaty.
That was 30 years ago. Israel seemed as isolated and alone then as it does today. As I concluded my interview, I asked Prime Minister Rabin a final question. "What would you want the United States to do now for Israel?"
He replied without hesitation. "Be strong! Be strong!"
That evening I joined for dinner a group of several hundred people who had accompanied me from the United States. We were meeting in the large dining room of the InterContinental Hotel on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, whose floor-to-ceiling windows gave a stunning view of the illuminated Temple Mount. As I related to the group the substance of my meeting, I began to recall the feeling of sadness which had come from the Prime Minister-the sense of the isolation of his nation. That evening, I made a solemn vow to God that, despite whatever might happen in the future, I and the organizations I headed would stand in support of Israel and the Jewish people. Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to say that I have kept that vow each year since 1974.
In closing, I would deliver to Israel in 2004 the message Yitzhak Rabin delivered to the United States on Christmas Day in 1974. For you are the living witnesses that the promises of the Sovereign Lord are true. "Be strong! Be strong!"
He will be with you and so will your evangelical friends.
Thank you, and God bless you!
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Time Well Spent
It is a well known fact that time spent reading
the Word of God is perhaps the best investment
of our time. The Word of God says that His Word
is many/all things to us. The Word of God is...
"...a lamp unto our feet..." "...and a light unto our
path." and so much more.
   The Psalms are like a collection of experiences
or journal of every emotion, problem, and
triumph known to man., yet they were written so
long ago. It is so comforting and encouraging to
know that we can run to the Psalms, and even the
entire Bible to find hope and help!
   When one reads the many Psalms written by King David, it is so wonderful to see that he was not only one of the greatest and well known Kings of Israel,
but just as human as you and I! I believe this is one of the reasons that the Psalms written by this great
The Best Legacy
"Fearfully and Wonderfully Made"
Thought Life By- Dr. Caroline Leaf
87% to 95% of the illnesses that plague us today are a direct result of our thought life. What we think about affects us physically and emotionally. It's an epidemic of toxic emotions.
The average person has over 30,000 thoughts a day. Through an uncontrolled thought life, we create the conditions for illness; we make ourselves sick! Research shows that fear, all on its own, triggers more than 1,400 known physical and chemical responses and activates more than 30 different hormones. There are INTELLECTUAL and MEDICAL reasons to FORGIVE! Toxic waste generated by toxic thoughts causes the following illnesses: diabetes, cancer, asthma, skin problems and allergies to name just a few. Consciously control your thought life and start to detox your brain!
Medical research increasingly points to the fact that thinking and consciously controlling your thought life is one of the best ways, if not the best way of detoxing your brain. It allows you to get rid of those toxic thoughts and emotions that can consume and control your mind.
Change in your thinking is essential to detox the brain. Consciously controlling your thought life means not letting thoughts rampage through your mind. It means learning to engage interactively with every single thought that you have, and to analyse it before you decide either to accept or reject it.
How do you go about doing that? By "looking" at your mental processes. That may sound like a strange, if not impossible thing to do. After all, it's not as if you can just crack open your skull like an egg and have a look at what is going on inside your brain.
It is possible, however, to look at your mental processes. In fact, it is not just possible, it is essential.
For example consider the following:
  • How many "could-have", "would-have", "should-have" statements have you made today?
  • How many "if onlys" were part of your inner vocabulary today?
  • How many times have you replayed in your head a conversation or situation that pained you, or one that hasn't even occurred yet?
  • How many scenarios have you created of the unpredictable future?
  • How much is speculation taking out of your day?
  • How passive is your mind?
  • How honest are you with yourself?
  • Are you at cross-purposes with yourself - going through the motions, but not really committed to the goal, saying one thing but meaning another?
  • How distorted is your thinking? Are you forming a personal identity around for example, a disease? Do you speak about "my arthritis", "my multiple sclerosis", "my heart problem"?
  • Do you ever make comments like "nothing ever goes right for me"; "everything I touch fails"; "I always mess up"?
If you answered yes even to just one of these, your thought life needs detoxing right now.
A potential pitfall on the path towards detoxing your brain is the fact that toxic thoughts come in many guises. On the surface, a thought like "I must do well" seems positive enough. It is only when you look at it closely, and check out the feelings it generates and their effects on your body and mind, that you will be able to judge fairly and squarely if this is a thought that serves you well.
If you base your thought life on assumptions like the above the foundations will be shaky and the edifice (your body mind) that you create thereafter will be highly unstable. As you think more toxic thoughts and generate more toxic emotions, that edifice will show cracks, cave in and eventually collapse altogether as burgeoning illness and disease takes hold.
Right off, you need to ditch unrealistic thinking and keep in mind some key principles to kick-start the process of controlling toxic thoughts:
Thoughts create your moods
When you experience a fear-based emotion you will feel depressed and your thoughts will be characterised by negativity
A negative thought linked to emotional turmoil will be distorted
"...bringing all thoughts into captivity to Christ Jesus" (2 Corinthians 10:5) becomes the golden rule of safe thinking
The process of "bringing all thoughts into captivity"
There are four simple techniques involved:
  1. Understanding that thoughts are real and have an actual anatomy
    Thoughts are real things: they have a structure in your brain and occupy space. Thoughts are the same as memories. Thoughts and memories look like trees and are called neurons or nerve cells. You build a double memory of everything as a mirror image of each other. This means that the memory on the left side of the brain builds from the detail to the big picture; and the memory on the right side builds from the big picture to the detail. When you put these two perspectives of thought together, you get intelligent understanding taking place. As information comes in from the five senses, you process it in certain structures of your brain, then you grow branches on the "trees" to hold this information in long term memory. In fact, as you reading this, you are growing thoughts, because, thoughts are the result of what we hear and read and see and feel and experience. This means that whatever you grow is part of you, actual branches in your brain that create your attitude and influence your decisions.
  2. Increasing conscious awareness of your thoughts and how you are feeling.
    Knowledge of the anatomy of thought naturally leads into the process of actively analysing incoming information and thoughts constantly. You should never let a thought or thoughts roam chaotically and unchecked through your head. Examine every thought you have and ask yourself: is this good for me? Is it from God or the devil or my own confused thinking? Conscious awareness of your thinking should become like a habit. A habit takes twenty-one days to create. Today is the first day of that twenty-one...
  3. Doing something once you have analysed the thought.
    So, whilst technique two is developing a conscious awareness of what you are thinking about. Now technique three is doing something about the thought. This means making a conscious decision to actively accept the thought (if it is good for you) or reject it (if it is bad for you). This means you use your God-given ability of free will (this also has actual structural position in the brain) to do something about the thought you are consciously aware of. Thoughts have as much control as we give them.
  4. Building new memories over the old.
    This is the really exciting part in dealing with our thought life because, accepting or rejecting the thought is changing the neural circuitry of your brain: you brain is growing while you think and you have control over the process. Technique four happens when the brain steps in and creates a structural representation of what you have chosen to accept (adds more branches on the tree) and converts what you have chosen to reject into hot air!
    • Lets see how these four techniques work if you have an unforgiveness in your memory trees towards someone:
    • Technique one: this unforgiveness looks like a thorn tree and will hurt you - visualize the twisted bitter thorn tree.
    • Technique two: be consciously aware of this thought of unforgiveness - where it comes from, how long it has been there, and so on.
    • Technique three: ask the Holy Spirit to help you use your free will to make the wisdom decision to reject unforgiveness and forgive. Picture the unforgiveness disappearing as hot air.
    • Technique four: now build a new de-thorned memory to replace the thorny unforgiveness with for example, quoting scriptures, singing a worship song, praying for the person, and so
